Trust & Safety
How we protect your show
Renting wireless mics is a trust exercise. Here's exactly how we earn it — before the kit ships, while it's on your stage, and after it comes back.
Pre-ship bench test
Every kit is powered up, paired, RF-coordinated, and level-checked on our bench before it leaves the shop. Nothing goes out that hasn't made sound in the last 48 hours. We verify each receiver pairs cleanly to its bodypack, sweep the local RF band for interference at our warehouse, lock frequencies, label every channel on the quick-start card, and confirm every element produces clean signal at realistic stage levels. The kit you get is the kit we just tested, not the kit that came back from the last gig and was dropped on a shelf.
MicKit Coverage (included on every rental)
Every rental includes MicKit Coverage — 8% of your rental total, required on every booking. What it protects: accidental drops, normal show wear, cable damage, element sweat-out, bodypack knobs ripped off mid-quick-change, receivers knocked off a road case in the wings. No deductible on the first small stuff, and above the $500 first-loss threshold, Coverage absorbs the rest up to the full replacement value of the affected item. Report damage within 24 hours with photos and return everything in the case.
What Coverage does not protect: loss (you lost the case, the bodypack walked off, someone pocketed an element), theft (the kit got stolen from the back of a van), willful destruction (someone threw a bodypack against a wall on purpose), and water damage beyond the case's IP rating (the kit got submerged in a pool). For loss, theft, or catastrophic destruction, see the replacement cost policy below. See the full MicKit Coverage page for details.
Certificate of Insurance (COI) and security deposit
Most schools, theaters, churches, and production companies already carry a general liability policy that covers rented equipment. If you don't, we place a credit card authorization hold equal to 50% of the kit's replacement value as a security deposit — released after the kit returns and passes inspection. The hold covers total-loss scenarios (theft, non-return, catastrophic destruction) that fall outside of Coverage.
If you provide a Certificate of Insurance naming Easterday Strategy Group, LLC (d/b/a RentMicKits) as additional insured for the rental period at no less than the kit's full replacement value, the security deposit is waived entirely — your insurer handles catastrophic claims, and we don't need to hold your card. Coverage is still required on every rental because Coverage handles the small accidental stuff below a normal insurance deductible. To submit a COI: email hello@rentmickits.com with your booking number and the certificate PDF. Typical turnaround is one business day.
Replacement cost policy
If a kit is totally lost, stolen, or destroyed beyond repair, you're responsible for the first $500 per incident (the Coverage first-loss threshold), and Coverage absorbs the rest up to the kit's published replacement value — approximately $1,600 for a MicKit 1, up to $20,000+ for a MicKit Perform 16. If you provide a valid Certificate of Insurance naming Easterday Strategy Group, LLC (d/b/a RentMicKits) as additional insured for full replacement value, the first-loss threshold is waived and your insurer handles the claim.
Backup elements included
Every kit ships with at least one spare Point Source Audio CO-6 headset or CO-8WL lavalier element, so if one fails in dress rehearsal you have a drop-in replacement in the case already. No phone call, no panic, no 48-hour wait for a replacement to ship.
Payment via Stripe
All payments run through Stripe. Your card details never touch our servers — Stripe is PCI-DSS Level 1 compliant and handles the entire payment flow. We see your booking details and the last four digits of your card. Nothing else.
